welcome to davidmcmaster.net
Don't be fooled by the name; this website is not really about me. I am
not delusional. I understand that I am only opening a window so you may
see the garden Someone else has planted. I will go so far as to say
that my photographer's eye, my years of experience and even the work
I've done studying photography are all gifts from that Someone. If this
seems like false humilty to you, let me assure you that I am sincere. I
truly believe that if I aspire to do any good work with my own agenda
or glory in mind, then I attempt usurpation."Seeing is believing," they say. Well, I have seen the amazing works of the Creator, and my belief has become unshakeable. (I hope you won't read that as mindless.) Is it possible that you have seen the same things? It's likely that you have. The problem is that your perception may be different from mine. Tricky thing, perception.
Really, I don't mind. It's not my job to tell you that you're wrong and I'm right. It's my job to share with you the Good News by whatever means has been given to me. This brings me back to photography. Enjoy the photos, and if you discover that God really does have good things for you while doing so then my joy will be complete.
the place where i live
The images that you find at this website are mostly from the Juneau,
Alaska area. Juneau is a place that captures and enchants the nature
photographer because there is no end to the variety and beauty of
subjects. There aren't too many locations where within an hour you
could photograph lush forests, icebergs floating before a glacier,
soaring mountains rising from the ocean, Humpback whales, Orcas, Bald
Eagles, mining ruins, busy downtown streets and a host of other
elements. It's all here. Concentrated amazement. Just add water.
a little about the mcmaster family
The McMaster clan has made their home in Juneau since 1990. They hope
to never leave. David works as a photographer/guide in the summer and a
photographer/snowboard instructor in the winter.
